Congratulations to Ted and Katie for putting together an amazing meeting. InterDrone attracted all of the leaders in the unmanned space, including Chris Anderson, 3DR’s CEO, for the grand keynote and opening remarks, Brandon Basso, 3DR’s VP of Software Engineering, for the unveiling of Solo’s SDK, and yours truly for the final keynote on The 3DR Story: From DIY to Enterprise.

The expo floor boasted an alway packed lounge by 3DR, a flying cage where DJI showed off their new ZenMuse X5 gimbaled micro 4/3 camera, and a huge array of other smaller players and startups. As a tribute to the excitement in the space, 50 state legislators attending a neighboring convention stopped by the 3DR kiosk for a flight demo with Solo. They walked away very impressed and I hope that more politician-facing demos will serve to remove some of the current scariness associated with unmanned vehicles.
